SUMMARY:Indigenous Walking Tour – Celebrate Indigenous People’s Day
DESCRIPTION:The Indigenous Walking Tour highlights Coast Salish history\, art\, and activism through seven stops across the University of Washington Campus. It was created by Owen Oliver ’21 to explore what it means to increase visibility\, accountability\, and connection to place on campus.   \n\n\n\nRead more about the Indigenous Walking Tour. \n\n\n\nAbout Owen Oliver \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOwen comes from the people of the Lower Columbia River\, Salish Sea\, and Southwest Pueblos. He is an enrolled member of the Quinault Indian Nation. He grew up in Seattle where he graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in American Indian Studies and Political Science. Owen has served as a board member for the Center for Native American Youth\, ASUW Shell House Fundraising Campaign\, and Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies at UW.  \n\n\n\nNow\, Owen works as the Director of Arts and Culture at Headwater People Consulting\, an Indigenous-owned and operated firm in Seattle Washington.
