Each of the seven short documentaries follows the journey of individuals or teams of young people ages 10-16 from Tacoma, Seattle, Renton, and Covington as they become empowered with the tools of media literacy, critical thinking and documentary film techniques. Cameras in hand, they explore, research, and question fairness in an issue close to their hearts: houselessness, policing, the metaverse, education, gentrification, book banning and the treatment of girls and women. Each youth directed their own short documentary and completed it with support from professional producers, directors and editors.
