Center for Restorative Practices Program Specialist
The UW Medicine Office of Healthcare Equity has an outstanding opportunity for a Center for Restorative Practices Program Specialist to join their team.
As Program Specialist for Center for Restorative Practices, you’ll manage the day to day of the Center for Restorative Practices (CRP), advancing UW Medicine’s equity mission. This position will focus on supporting the Office of Healthcare Equity’s Equity Consult Service (ECS) and Restorative Practices program (RP). This program role contributes significantly to creating a more just and equitable healthcare system for all. Responsibilities include:

The Restorative Practices Program Specialist is responsible for the daily monitoring, initial outreach to requesters, and follow up for the Center. This position will manage Equity Consult Service and Restorative Practices, both of which are systemwide services offered to both the workforce and patients. This includes organizing training opportunities and supporting staff and volunteers throughout their education at the different levels of training and through the development of the Community of Practice.
This position will report to the Assistant Director of Center for Restorative Practices.
The Center for Restorative Practices is to be used by a large community across multiple hospitals, a series or community clinics, research labs in many different locations and varied learning spaces for medical students, graduate students, allied health trainees, residents, and fellows. This position is the interface between incoming requests and the Center for RP team, a group of leaders across UW Medicine including representation from the faculty, human resources, patient relations, graduate medical education, nursing, and the medical school. This position requires a high level of discretion and independent judgement to successfully manage and triage the incoming requests and then engage the right members for a successful response and outcome.
This position will work closely with the Bias Reporting Tool (BRT) Coordinator and other positions within the CRP. They will also work closely with Restorative Practices Committee, BRT Committee and partner with Risk Management, Human Resources and Patient Relations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Request Management – 50%
Primary outreach to requesters with appropriate triage to other members of the Center for RP team for initial outreach or direction to other resources across UW and UW Medicine.
Communicate with requesters to gather additional information (via phone, email, virtual meeting, etc.) about requests in an objective manner with an active listening and trauma informed care lens representative of UW Medicine values and policies.
Coordinate follow-up on requests as needed with the appropriate stakeholders and teams: Referral to OHCE Equity Consults Service, Bias Reporting Tool, CRP Committee, and others. Referral to CRIO, Personnel Policy Unit, OMBUD, HR.
Serve as backup for triaging BRT reports, reaching out to the person who submitted the report as needed. Connect with HR or other members of the BRT team for awareness and to initiate next steps.
Oversee the case management system by updating records, tracking reports that need additional follow up, and closing completed cases.
Partner closely with necessary groups to ensure the appropriate data is gathered from start to finish and follow-up is completed with requesters based on the initial request and subsequent steps.
Update and train necessary team members on the case management system.
Program Management – 20%
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop short and long-term strategic plans for the ECS and RP programs, including goals, objectives, and evaluation metrics.
Coordinate evaluation of programs, including defining of outcomes, data collection, analysis, reporting, and improvement.
Work with the Assistant Director to identify and implement program enhancements based on data analysis and user feedback.
Maintain accurate data for all reports including appropriate clarification and tagging for each report to allow accurate analysis of data set. Quarterly review of the data.
Collaborate with the Assistant Director to produce and present reports on training participation, effectiveness, and sharing findings and developing strategies to improve program outcomes based on data analysis.
Develop and execute communication plans to support these programs.
Schedule and support recurring program meetings for both coordinating requests and sharing reports.
Participate in RP and ECS activities as needed.
Administrative Operations – 30%
Oversees the logistics of RP circles, trainings, and other RP related events (room rentals, room set up, food, signage, purchasing and reimbursements, etc.).
Manage volunteer facilitators opportunities including the community of practice.
Schedule and support ad hoc meetings as related to the Center for Restorative Practices.
Maintain the Center for Restorative Practices page on the OHCE website and maintain links to the Center for RP page throughout UW Medicine.
Support the tracking of CRP budget and consulting costs.
Troubleshoot operational challenges with effective problem solving.
Other assigned tasks and related duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, social work, criminal justice, or other field; Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement.
At least two years of relevant experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
