The Formosa Golf Club hosted a charity golf tournament on August 8, 2026 at Allenmore Golf Course to benefit the Asian Health Research Center at the University of Washington, bringing together community leaders, supporters, and more than 50 attendees for an inspiring day on the course. Dr. Eugene Yang, Professor of Medicine and Director of Asian Health Research and Medical Education at the UW Medicine Office of Healthcare Equity, and Andy Tang, a second-year medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine, introduced the work of the Asian Health Research Center and outlined their visions for the Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (ANHPI) student pathway.

More than twelve thousand dollars was raised to advance the ANHPI medical student pathway. These funds will directly support mentorship and training initiatives designed to cultivate the next generation of physicians dedicated to culturally competent care.

EVA Airways generously served as the grand prize sponsor for the event’s raffle, donating two airplane tickets that helped drive enthusiastic participation. This collaborative partnership highlights the powerful impact that community organizations and corporate sponsors can achieve together in advancing health education and research.
