Search Committee Training
Search Committee Training
This training is designed to ensure equitable and non-discriminatory search practices, fostering a welcoming environment for all candidates. The presentation will help guide your committee to conduct an inclusive search focused on equity, ensuring that all candidates receive full and fair consideration, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics.
One goal for the UW Medicine Office of Healthcare Equity is to increase faculty diversity in the UW School of Medicine by ensuring full and fair consideration of all candidates and by valuing experiences, skills, and commitments related to serving diverse and underserved communities, consistent with UW’s civil rights and nondiscrimination policies. The presentation highlights the need to increase diversity, best/effective practices to promote diversity, how unconscious bias affects workforce diversity, and ways to mitigate the effects of unconscious bias in resident/faculty search and promotion. The presentation will help guide your committee to conduct an inclusive search.
