Estelita’s Library Community Cookout

July 5 @ 12:00 pm 4:00 pm

Not Our Independence: A Liberation Celebration
Friday, July 5th | 12–4PM for Estelita’s Library Celebration Cookout — where we reclaim joy, resistance, and community.

We are celebrating the amazing milestone of acquiring a new property for Estelita’s that will turn into the future home of our Headquarters/Cultural Space and Affordable Housing above!

2901 17th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144

Enjoy music by DeeJay Rise, grilled bites from Chef Tarik and Nic Nguyen, balloon art with Hoopla, bold prints by Partners in Print, and artwork by STBOXSEA. Presented in community with FANHS Seattle. Plus: games for all ages, local vendors, merch, and more!

July 5, 1852, Frederick Douglass asked: “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”
We gather not to celebrate a freedom denied to so many—but to honor truth, reclaim joy, and nourish liberation through food, music, and community.

Come through. Bring your people.
