This unique event blends the flavors of food, art, and community activism to challenge perspectives and celebrate Asian American heritage.
The night opens with a compelling video by Yixuan Pan “How to Make an ASMR Dumpling”, followed by a live performance highlighting the labor of immigrants and collective healing through food. This is more than just a performance; it’s an invitation to experience the art of food-making while addressing the often-overlooked contributions of immigrants to the culinary world.
The evening continues with two food expert panels, featuring Seattle’s renowned restaurateurs and food influencers, including Melissa Miranda (Musang), Rachel Yang (Revel, Joule), and Karuna Long (Sophon), moderated by Tan Vinh of the Seattle Times. They’ll discuss their culinary inspirations, the challenges of running successful restaurants, and emerging food trends.
In the second panel, Kat Lieu (Subtle Asian Baking) and Ken Tran (Feed The Pudge) will engage in discussion to dive deeper into food’s connection to identity, community, and the growing influence of social media in food culture.
Poet Jane Wong will captivate the audience with her moving words, reflecting on cultural heritage and identity through poetry.
Interactive Trivia & Prizes: Guests are invited to join chefs on stage for a fun, fast-paced food trivia game, with a big prize awaiting the winning team.
