The University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM) recognizes the importance of diversity for maintaining excellence in its teaching, patient care and research programs. These programs are open to all fourth year students and are designed to promote the opportunity to experience graduate medical education at the University of Washington prior to choosing where to go for their residency.
To increase the representation of medical students from diverse backgrounds in its residency training programs, the Departments of Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Psychiatry and Radiology are offering funded visiting sub-internships for medical students in their fourth year.
