Cracking the Bro Code – Special Seminar
May 13 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
We are very excited to invite you to join us for a special seminar by Dr. Coleen Carrigan, author of “Cracking the Bro Code“, on May 13 at 1:30 pm in Foege S-060. Dr. Carrigan is a feminist anthropologist who is currently a Copenhaver Associate Professor in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia. In “Cracking the Bro Code”, Dr. Carrigan uses ethnography to understand why people from dominant racial and gender groups have preferential access to computing. She has advanced the theory that social purpose and feminist coalition-building are important factors in working toward equity in computing.

If you are interested in meeting with Dr. Carrigan please contact Dana to make arrangements. There are still some openings for faculty or groups that would like to meet with Dr. Carrigan, and there will be a special lunch meeting on May 14 specifically for graduate students, postdocs, and other trainees.
If you have any questions or need to request accommodations please email DLM16@uw.edu.
