STEAMpire Expo ’25 – A vibrant, student-focused fair filled with interactive exhibits, resources, and performances

The African Community Housing & Development (ACHD) is hosting the first-ever BIPOC S.T.E.A.M. Resource Fair. Designed to inspire Black and Brown youth in South King County, the fair will feature hands-on exhibits, performances, and resources from schools, employers, and community groups. The goal is to spark interest in STEAM fields through culturally responsive, engaging experiences.

Hosted at Tyee High School in SeaTac, this event will bring together educational institutions, employers, and community organizations to share engaging STEAM activities, programs, and career pathways with students in an accessible, hands-on environment.

Resource Fair Goals

  • Increase BIPOC youth exposure to STEAM fields in engaging and creative ways
  • Connect students to tangible resources: education, programs, internships, mentorship
  • Celebrate the integration of arts and identity within STEAM
  • Uplift Tyee High School and the SeaTac community as places of opportunity
  • Build a foundation for an annual event with growing community impact

Target Audience

  • Middle and high school students from SeaTac, Burien, Tukwila, Des Moines, White Center, West Kent, and Renton
  • School district staff, educators, and administrators
  • Local and regional organizations offering STEAM programs, job pathways, and youth services
