The resource fair will run from 10am to 2pm and will feature Mammograms, Dental Services, COVID and Flu vaccines, Free Haircuts and Car Seats! Of course, we have the other resources you’ve come to know and love – health insurance enrollment, Orca Lift transportation support and other public benefit programs, kids’ activities and more. We’re also providing a meal – feel free to stop by and check it out.

Capoeira Angola is a powerful Afro-Brazilian martial art with deep cultural roots in resistance and survival. Born from the struggles of enslaved Africans in Brazil, Capoeira combines movement, music, history, and philosophy to create a game of strategy, style, and wit. In our classes, we’ll dive into these traditions, learning the foundational movements, music, and the spirit of this art form. Open to all ages.

Hosted in partnership with the Union Cultural Center and led by instructor Silvio Dos Reis.

Food is medicine, and we’re here to help you learn how to use food to nourish your mind and soul. Join us for a special cooking workshop where we’ll explore how specific nutrients, food sources, and healthy gut bacteria play an essential role in supporting mental well-being. This hands-on class will feature a presentation, cooking together, and of course, enjoying a shared meal. Come ready to learn, create, and connect through the power of food. Open to all ages.

Film Screening: “Nurse Unseen”

Join the Office of Healthcare Equity, UW Medical Center, UW School of Nursing, and American Nephrology Nurses Association – Northwest for a screening of the award-winning documentary “Nurse Unseen.” The 90-minute film explores the little-known history of the unsung Filipino nurses who risked their lives on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic while facing a resurgence of anti-Asian hate in public. 

Save the date, bring a colleague and join the Office of Healthcare Equity on March 4 at 5 p.m. in Hogness auditorium in the Magnuson Health Sciences building for the feature film. A 30-minute discussion with the film director will immediately follow the screening. Light snacks will be provided.

  • The movie will be played with subtitles.
  • The venue is wheelchair accessible with seating at the bottom and top of the auditorium.
  • Doors open at 6 PM, and the movie will start at 6:30 PM.
  • Snacks will be provided. 
  • RSVP to the event and indicate any access needs using the QR code on the flyer or this link.
